Mission Statement
The Public Buildings Department is responsible for approximately 750,000 square feet of building space.  The department provides custodial services for all school buildings and most of the general government buildings.  In addition to the custodial services, the department repairs and maintains all of the Town's municipal buildings.  Public Buildings provides for the complete set-up at all Town elections and the annual and special town meetings.


        Here are Just a Few of the Capital Improvement Projects to Look for This Year!!

          North Intermediate School will have new exterior windows & doors installed
          North Intermediate School will be connected to the sewerage line
          North Intermediate School will have 2 new high efficiency gas condensing boilers installed
          West Intermediate School will have a new section of the roof installed
          West Intermediate School will have a new duel Fuel boiler installed
          Public Safety Building will upgrade the building management system
          Public Buildings Department will convert from #2 heating oil to natural gas and install a high efficiency gas boiler
          Shawsheen Street School will have a duel fuel boiler installed
          Shawsheen Street School will be converted from #2 heating oil to natural gas


        Improving Wilmington Public Buildings, One Project at a Time!


         Here are Just a Few of The Past Years Capital Improvements

   DPW garage had a new roof installed
   Boutwell Street School was converted from #2 heating oil to natural gas
   Woburn Street School had a new septic system installed
   Shawsheen Street School had new windows installed
   Roman House was converted from oil to natural gas
   Replaced Lighting in the Shawsheen Street School gym to high efficiency lighting
   Replaced lighting in the Woburn Street gym to high efficiency lighting
   Replaced the domestic hot water system in the North Intermediate School
   Woburn Street School gym was sanded and lined and finished
   Replaced the boiler at the cemetary office
   Converted the Boutwell Street School to natural gas and installed 2 new furnaces
