*“THE ROOKIES”                  This program is full - call to be placed on a wait list.
Currently in Kindergarten & Grade 1, $25, 6 Weeks, Monday - Thursday, May 2 – June 9, No practice 5/30.
This co-ed program begins with two weeks of T-Ball (Spring Training!) and moves forward into the season with
coaches pitching.  Teams will practice once a week to allow players to improve their baseball/softball skills and have
one game each week for fun!
  
SOCCER!                                         (West Intermediate School Gymnasium)      8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. classes are full -
$35, Saturdays, April 9 – May 7, (5 Weeks).                                                                           call to be placed on wait list.
Kinder Soccer - Ages 4 & 5 not yet in Kindergarten. Choose from:  8:30 – 9:20 a.m. or 9:30 – 10:20 a.m. or 10:30 – 11:20 a.m.  Just like the big kids, now you can play soccer indoors while learning about the game.  Don’t wait – classes fill quickly!  
Just for Kicks! - Age 5 by 8/31/11, not yet in Kindergarten, 11:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
Kinder Soccer is a prerequisite for this class.  You’ve got some basic skills, now expand your dribbling, shooting and scrimmaging.

SPRING TENNIS LESSONS                           (Kathleen Reynolds – Shawsheen Tennis Courts)
6 Weeks, Wednesdays, April 27 – June 1.  Bring an unopened can of tennis balls.
Age 4 accompanied by an adult, $30, 4:45 – 5:30 p.m.  This fun class teaches you both the basics of tennis.  Love all!  
Ages 5 - 6, $35, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.  This class is great for new or continuing students.  Learn the basics of this life-long sport.  This class is full

KARATE CLASSES                                  (Academy of Traditional Karate, 155 West St.)
4 Weeks, Tuesdays, May 10 – 31, 5:45 – 6:15 p.m.  Includes basic Karate moves, Japanese culture and life skills.
T-shirt and belt included.      Little Dragons:  Ages 3 & 4, $25                Little Samurai:  Ages 5 – 7, $39

*LEARN TO SKATE                                 (Wilmington Figure Skating Club – Ristuccia Memorial Arena)
Ages 4 and up, $90 (includes annual USFSC fee), 6 Weeks, Fridays, May 6 – June 10,
4 – 4:50 p.m. or 5:20 – 6:10 p.m.  Classes include 25 minutes of instruction and 25 minutes of practice time.
Helmet and single blade skates are required.


UPCOMING SUMMER PROGRAMS


*TINY TOTS (Ages 4 & 5) & KIDS CLUB (Ages 6, 7 & 8! - Expanded Age Group!)      (Boutwell School)
$145 per session. This social/recreational program includes arts and crafts, games, special events, daily themes and a field trip.
Participants receive a t-shirt and a class photo.  
Two Sessions:  Monday, June 27 – Friday, July 15, no class 7/4, or Monday, July 18 – Thursday, August 4, 9 a.m. – 12 noon.

REGISTRATION – Tuesday, April 26, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium
Registration forms will be available beginning Monday, April 11 at the Recreation Office and on our website. After April 26, registration
will continue weekdays in the Recreation Office.  A copy of your child’s birth certificate is needed for registration.

Volunteer applications, for students entering grade 9 and above, will be available May 1 and accepted during the month of May.

*PLAYGROUND PROGRAM                                     (Woburn St. School - New Location!)
Entering Grades 2 – 8! - Expanded Age Group!, $150. This six-week program consists of arts and crafts, games, sports,
special events, free play and optional field trips.  The program runs Mondays – Fridays, June 27 – August 4, no July 4, and
its hours are 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Playground is held rain or shine.  Registration begins Wednesday, April 27.
Forms will be available at the Recreation Office and on our website.


SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUES                       
Forms for these leagues will be available at the Recreation Office and on our website.  Registration period will be April 1 – June 2.
 
-  *SHOOTING STARS - Entering Grades 3 – 4, $25, 6 Weeks, Tuesdays (Girls) or Thursdays (Boys), July 5 – August 11.
This program will provide instruction and games once a week. Teams will play a staggered game schedule at 6, 7 or 8 p.m.
 
-  *TWILIGHT BASKETBALL - Entering Grades 5 – 6, $25, 4 Weeks, July 5 – August 1.
This co-ed league will play a staggered schedule outdoors on Monday through Thursday evenings at 6, 7 or 8 p.m.
Teams will play approximately two games per week.
  
-  *PICK UP AND PLAY BASKETBALL! – Entering Grades 7 – 8, $15 ($35 w/ mesh reversible Recreation jersey), 4 Weeks,
Mondays and Wednesdays, July 5 – August 1, 6 – 8 p.m.
This brand new co-ed program allows participants to drop in for as much or as little pick-up basketball as they want!
Games will be organized by a supervisor, and refereed.  Pre-registration is required.
Players new to Recreation Basketball will need to purchase a navy/white reversible jersey.


*SUMMER TENNIS LESSONS                          (Boutwell Courts)
$25 for each Monday – Friday session, rain or shine!  Bring an unopened can of tennis balls on the first day of the session.

TOP SECRET SCIENCE & MATH SUMMER FUN            (Michael Bergen – Massachusetts Science Center)
Entering Grades 1 – 5, Monday - Friday
The kids can have a blast (literally!) while they learn. This program follows state guidelines for required curriculums.
Children will complete many experiments each day under the instruction of an experienced and professional science teacher.
                
Half Day:  $95, June 27 - July 1, 9 a.m. - 12 noon, West Intermediate School Cafeteria

Full Day:  $165, August 8 - 12, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Wildwood School Cafeteria  Full day students should bring their lunch!

Documentation of a physical in the past year and immunization records must be provided with the registration forms.

The mini version of Sports Jam!  Play soccer, t-ball, kick ball, basketball, softee hockey, and balloon ball.  Play “finding the Nemo”, Sponge Bob tag, thunder relays, Kiddie Cat Olympics and more.  Theme days include Red Sox Day and Friday Fun!
Sports Jam (Ages 7 – 9)

The ultimate multi-sport program with core sports of baseball, basketball and soccer.  Other sports
like flag football, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, dodgeball, disc golf, team handball and kick ball are included – as well as games like “shark attack” and “safari”.


GOLF CLINICS                                    (Barrie Bruce – Billerica Country Club)
Ages 7 – 14, $95, Monday - Friday.  “All you need is a pair of sneakers and a good attitude!”
Equipment provided. Classes accept both beginners and continuing students.

*LEARN TO SAIL!                                 (Community Boating - Charles River, Boston)
Ages 10 - 18, $150, Monday - Friday, August 15 - 19, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Back by popular demand!  Each day consists of kayaking, classroom lecture, a short lunch break,
and then cast off for an afternoon of sailing!  Bus transportation is included.  New students must
pass a free swim test at the Shawsheen Tech. pool before attending the program.

LEARN TO FISH                                   (Town Beach - Silver Lake)
Ages 8 and up, FREE, Wednesday, May 25, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.  Rain date:  Wednesday, June 1.
